Intercultural Communication College will offer the new TOEIC® Speaking and Writing test for the first time on October 10th, 2008.  In partnership with G2nd Systems, an ETS preferred vendor, ICC is the only approved school in the Honolulu area that will administer this test.

Yasuo Kobachi was born in Japan and worked for a private juku (cram) school for 25 years. He was a student in ICC's College Studies Program.


Yasuo Kobachi also made a podcast discussing Honolulu traffic in "First Step Towards a Vehicle-Free World" while a student in the College Studies Program Public Speaking class.

Saturday October 11th: CELTA Teacher Training Information Session

Friday 12 September 2008 at 11:40 am Intercultural Communications College Hawaii will be holding an information session for people interested in teaching English as a second language on Saturday October 11th at 10:00 a.m..

ICC is the only location in Hawaii, and one of only 10 locations in the U.S., to be an authorized provider of the Cambridge University CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) program. The CELTA program is a full-time, 4-week (40 hours/week) introductory course for candidates who have little or no previous English language teaching experience. It may also be suitable for candidates with some experience but little previous training. Please see the ICC CELTA page for more information.

TOEFL 3: The Essayist Volume 2 Issue 2

ICC's TOEFL 3 “Bridge to University” College Studies program helps students succeed in American Colleges and Universities. Through our partnership with Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa, TOEFL 3 students can enroll at UIU and ICC simultaneously and receive university credit while studying in Hawaii at ICC.

Back by popular acclaim for the third of three episodes on hypnosis, Jim will lead a discussion on states of enlightenment that humans can attain through hypnosis. Hypnosis seems to be able to help a person access metacognitive states more easily in a shorter period of time. Come join us in exploring what may be happening during metacognitive transformation in the mind and brain. Moderator's note: As a byline, we have also been exploring how teachers use hypnosis in directed teaching and students in self-directed learning!
